About Us

Who we are

A community that follows

8

We are a church: a community of imperfect people who have been saved by perfect Savior. Jesus died to take the punishment we deserve for our sins and was raised three days later to give us new life with Him forever! That is the reason we gather to worship Him, learn more about Him, and understand how to live in obedience to Him.

Romans 10:9

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ESV

Hebrews 10:25

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

the saints for the work of ministry

- Ephesians 4:12a

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Matthew 28:19-20

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” ESV

the Father in spirit and truth

- John 4:23a

Ephesians 5:18-21

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Matthew 26:26-28

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

  • Singing Praises - From hymns to contemporary songs, from voices to instruments, our Sunday worship service is focused on Jesus. We want to worship in a simple, reverent, biblical, and joyful way that honors our God, proclaims what He has done, and encourages others to abide in Him.    join us in song this Sunday >

  • Communion - Once every month at the end of our worship service, we set aside a time to remember Jesus’ death by drinking juice and eating bread. It is a quiet time to reflect on Christ’s great sacrifice to wash our sins away forever. We take communion only after truly repenting of all known sin.   more about communion >

  • Baptism - After someone is saved we will host a baptism to illustrate the spiritual death and resurrection that they have gone through. These are joyous events that celebrate the amazing grace we receive through Jesus’ death and resurrection!    more about baptism >

what sets us apart

We're going back to the

fbf-fellowship

The modern, evangelical church has drifted from the beautiful simplicity found in the New Testament:

Acts 2:42-47

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

The reliance on God's power has turned to man's production value. The devotion to the apostle's teaching and Word of God has turned to short practical TED Talks. The self-sacrificing love of the saints who fellowship and did life together has turned into corporate hospitality. This is not true of all modern churches, but seems to be a trend among many. We want to graciously call Christians back to rooting every part of the church in God's Word and away from secular marketing strategies, no matter how effective they may be.

It is our passion to bring the church back to a radical group of average people with only the Holy Spirit's power to fuel them, the gospel to motivate them, and the heart of Christ to care for people's souls with His Word.
